Debenda The rule library

What we collect, and what we don’t.

Nothing you type into the tools. Here’s everything else, in full.

What you type

It stays in your browser. The checker and the calculators run on your own machine. Nothing you enter is sent to Debenda or to anyone else, and we keep no record of it. Debenda sets no cookies.

Page visits

Cloudflare serves the site. Its Web Analytics counts page visits, which pages people read, the site that sent them, how long pages take to load, and visitors’ country, browser, operating system and device type. It sets no cookies, doesn’t fingerprint anyone, and doesn’t log the part of a web address after a “?”. We see totals, never a list of people.

Like any web host, Cloudflare has to see your IP address to send you a page. If a page fails to load, your browser may also send Cloudflare a short error report with the page’s address. Cloudflare says it doesn’t log your IP address for those.

Fonts

The typefaces come from Google Fonts. To fetch them, your browser contacts Google, which receives your IP address, your browser type and which site you’re on, as any server would. Google says it sets no cookies for this and doesn’t use it to build profiles or target ads.

If you email us

We keep your email so we can answer it and follow the conversation. Ask and we’ll delete it. The one thing we keep after you unsubscribe is your address on our do-not-email list, so we don’t write again.

Our emails

Most of our emails go to SBIR award holders. We write to the principal investigator named on a company’s SBIR or STTR award, at the email address the award record gives. The records come from SBIR.gov, the federal government’s database of SBIR and STTR awards. We don’t buy lists. We never write to the government contacts those records also list, or to any .mil or .gov address on them. These emails come from Nadav Albilya at getdebenda.com or debendahq.com, domains we use only for them.

Every email to an award holder has a one-click unsubscribe, and it works at once. Reply asking us to stop and we take you off the same day. US law gives senders up to ten business days (15 U.S.C. 7704(a)(4)); we don’t wait.

Nadav also writes one-to-one notes, one at a time, to people that APEX Accelerators, accounting firms and lenders list publicly for their role. Those have no one-click link. Reply “no thanks” and you go on the same do-not-email list that day.

One do-not-email list covers every email we send, so asking once stops all of them.

We don’t track whether you open our emails or click their links. Each version of our email links to its own page on this site, like debenda.com/34days, and everyone who gets that version gets the same link. So the page-visit totals above show which version people found useful. They never show who.

To send and check these emails we use Google Workspace (our mailboxes), Instantly (the sending tool, which also keeps the do-not-email list) and an address-checking service that confirms an address works before we write to it. We use them for that and nothing else.

Selling and sharing

We don’t sell your information, and we don’t give it to anyone to market to you.

Changes and questions

If any of this changes, this page changes first, with a new date at the top. Questions, or want something deleted? Write to nadav@debenda.com.
